The Ghanaian actor Kwaku Manu paid a heartwarming visit to hiplife music legend Okomfour Kwadee at the Willingway Foundation, where the rapper gets treatment for his persistent mental health issues.
The video uploads of Kwadee’s weakened state and mental health decline prompted Kwaku Manu to make his visit to the Willingway Foundation, where the rapper received his mental health care.
The hiplife legend Okomfour Kwadee spent multiple spells in rehabilitation facilities throughout the recent years. His debut album, released in the early 2000s, contained popular songs Kwaadee and Ataa Adwoa, which made him a known face in households throughout Ghana.
After his mental health problems worsened, his life experienced a major decline, which negatively affected both his professional and personal life.
Kwaku Manu followed Kwadee closely, so he decided to visit the rehab centre to see how the rapper was progressing. Manu spoke with Lydia Abena Manu, who runs the Willingway Foundation, when he visited the facility.
The CEO of The Willingway Foundation expressed that Kwadee showed improvement in previous rehab but experienced a recent setback when he returned to negative behaviour.
Lydia expressed deep feeling as she explained, “Kwadee has been through so much.” The hard work to support him has been difficult to witness him return to difficulties after making significant progress.
The emotional caregiver described the occasions when Kwaku Manu used to deliver food supplies to the rehab center. Kwaku fondly remembered sitting with Kwadee to discuss their positive memories because those occasions brought him joy. His recovery brought a blessing because it showed him fighting strong once more.
