Lazio in pole position to sign Mason Greenwood from Manchester United
Lazio President Claudio Lotito has opened up on his desire to sign want away Manchester United forward Mason Greenwood. Lotito also hinted that Juventus and Napoli are also trying to hijack the deal for the English forward.
Man United told Mason who saw his charges for attempted rape, assault and coercive control dropped before joining Getafe last season that he has no future at the club.
Italian giants Lazio are hoping to secure the services of the talented English forward amidst the pursuit from other top European clubs.
“I offered €25m plus 50% of the resale, plus bonuses and commissions,” Lotito revealed. “And yet several clubs have entered to make a disturbance,
“Juventus, Napoli… it seems that everyone is jinxing it. They are terrified we could take him and they want to ruin everything.
“Yes, I said there’s another target who is ten times stronger than Mason, but you know that sometimes I play. It’s true, but I do have another young name hidden.”
Marseille are understood to have struck a deal worth £27.6m (€31.8m) inclusive of bonuses, and it is not yet clear whether the Italian team’s bonuses would match the fee on offer from the French side.
